East Renfrewshire Council aimed to transform their Barrhead headquarters into a modern, agile workspace for over 400 staff.
As part of this ambitious project, we collaborated with the SPACE Design & Build team to update and enhance the flooring throughout the building, focusing on both functionality and sustainability.
Originally built in 2006, the building’s layout was not optimized for a single occupier, with awkward spaces such as tiny tea preps and an outdated reception. Our flooring solutions were designed to complement the redesign, creating a more cohesive and inviting environment.
We took a “reuse, repurpose, recycle” approach, incorporating existing flooring where appropriate to minimize waste while seamlessly integrating new materials that enhanced the look and feel of the updated reception, customer hall, and staff wellness areas.
Our flooring choices contributed to the neutral yet practical aesthetic that defines the refreshed space.
By balancing design and sustainability, we helped transform the building into a bright, collaborative, and calming environment that aligns with East Renfrewshire Council’s commitment to staff wellbeing.
